SMTP Connections
Send business email from your own mailbox and keep quotes, reminders and marketing follow-up consistent.
In the CRM: Settings → Connections → SMTP
Give Mango9 a business email sender
SMTP is the email service Mango9 uses to send messages. Connect the mailbox or delivery service owned by your business so customers recognize the sender when you send an enquiry response, quote follow-up or appointment message.
Open Settings → Connections and choose Manage beside SMTP. The configuration list shows the saved connections, their sender details and whether they are Active or Default. Choose Add New Configuration to prepare another sender.
Enter the email service settings
- Give the connection a Configuration Name, such as Business email or Quote follow-up. This name helps your team identify it inside Mango9.
- Enter the From Name customers should see, such as your company name. Add a short Description for your own reference.
- Enter the SMTP Server supplied by the email service.
- Choose the matching Port and Security supplied by that service. The form pairs 465 with SSL and 587 with TLS.
- Enter the mailbox’s Username / Email and its Password / App Password. Use the password type required by that email service. Leave Charset at UTF-8 for ordinary business messages.
Choose how this sender is used
For Email Campaigns, also review that module’s Settings → SMTP and select the available delivery source you want. This keeps the campaign’s sender choice clear.
| Option | What it means |
|---|---|
| Set as Default | Choose this configuration as the default for email to leads. |
| Active | Make the configuration available for use. |
| Use System SMTP | Choose Mango9 system SMTP for campaign email instead of this connection, where that delivery option is available. |
Test and save the connection
From the list’s Action menu, Send Test Email uses the saved configuration. Edit opens its settings; Set as Default chooses the default sender; Activate or Deactivate changes availability. Delete is offered for a configuration that is not the default.
If the test fails, check the error against the email service’s settings. Confirm that the mailbox permits this type of sign-in and that the password, port and security choices match.
- Check the server, port, security, username and password before selecting Test Connection.
- Test Connection sends a real test email to the address entered in Username / Email. Open that mailbox and check the message and sender.
- Choose Save Configuration to store the setup. The test action does not save the form for you.
- Back in the list, confirm the intended Active and Default badges.
Make email part of the customer journey
A home-services team can follow an advertising enquiry with a branded quote email, then use SMS for a requested reminder. An appointment business can keep the sender name familiar across confirmations and follow-up.
Create reusable Email Templates for messages your team sends repeatedly. Use the appropriate workflow or email campaign to decide when and to whom the message is sent. Connecting SMTP prepares delivery; the template and campaign define the customer-facing message.
