Desk Phone Devices

Prepare a supported desk phone for the person answering your business calls.

In the CRM: Phone Dashboard → Quick menu → Devices

Give your answering team a ready phone

Devices holds the setup for physical desk phones used with your Phone System. For example, a receptionist can answer campaign enquiries on a sales-desk phone while other staff use the Mango9 Windows or iPhone app.

Telnyx is the carrier for the public business number. The extension identifies the internal line, and the device is the phone using that line. Buy and assign your number, create the extension and agree the answering route before configuring the handset.

Open Voice Features → Phone System, then use Devices in the Phone Dashboard’s Quick menu. Search for an existing handset before selecting Add. Mango9 app users normally sign in through the app’s account screen.

Current native device form with unsaved example values and an empty password. Address editing depends on the account’s phone-system permissions. Select the image to enlarge it.

Prepare the device record

The server address, port, transport and registration interval are technical connection settings. Use the values provided for your phone service. The example values in the screenshot are not a working Mango9 phone configuration.

  1. Check the phone’s model and hardware address with the person who manages your phones. The hardware address identifies the handset; it is different from a customer’s telephone number.
  2. Open an existing device, or select Add. Enter the hardware address when that field is available to your role.
  3. Give it a useful Label, such as Sales desk, and choose the Template matching the supported phone model.
  4. In Lines, use the server, extension identity and phone password supplied for this handset. The User ID and Auth ID identify the phone line.
  5. Review the line’s Enabled switch and the device assignment, location and description below.
  6. Select Save when the setup is complete. Have your phone administrator apply the handset’s provisioning settings, then check Registrations to see whether the phone connected.

Keep the hardware easy to identify

User links the device to its phone-system user. Location and Description help the team recognize the handset later, especially when several desks or branches answer the same campaign.

The device Enabled switch controls provisioning for that device. The separate line Enabled switch controls the line in its setup. Review both before saving. Model-specific keys and settings can be used for the handset’s supported shortcuts.

Current native assignment and location controls. No device was saved or provisioned during this capture. Select the image to enlarge it.

Check the whole answering journey

After the phone is configured, have your team make an agreed test call to a number you control. Check outgoing caller ID, an incoming call to the campaign number, and any intended transfer or queue route.

For a lead-selling business, confirm which extension or delivery number belongs to each buyer. A connected phone is one part of that journey; the campaign controls determine how the opportunity reaches the buyer.
