Live Chat Alerts & Installation
Install the chat window on your website and notify the team when enquiries arrive.
In the CRM: Conversations → Live Chat → Alerts & install
Connect the published website to your team
After saving a website connection, open Alerts & install. This tab provides the installation code, connection-health information and staff notification settings.
Copy the code generated for that specific website. It connects the visitor’s chat window to the correct Mango9 website inbox.
Install the chat window
- Select the saved website and open Alerts & install.
- Choose Copy installation code.
- In your website editor, paste that code into the site-wide footer or custom-code area before the closing </body> tag. Ask the person who maintains your website to add it if needed.
- Publish the website changes.
- Open the published website at the exact HTTPS address entered in Website origin. Confirm that the chat window appears.
- Return to Connection health to check whether a visitor connection has been observed.
Choose the staff alerts you want
Set up an email sender under Settings → Connections → SMTP, then select it here. If a system notification sender is offered, it also appears in the selector. These offline-message emails go to staff.
Choose Save changes after adjusting notification settings. Website access and routing determine the authorized recipients.
| Setting | How it works |
|---|---|
| Mobile push notifications | Notify eligible staff through their registered Mango9 mobile devices. |
| Email staff about offline messages | Send staff the visitor’s available details, message and an Open chat link. Messages already read can be suppressed. |
| SMTP connection | Choose the email sender used for offline-message alerts. It reuses your configured SMTP connection. |
Check the first conversation
- Have an authorized team member open the Inbox or the Mango9 app and become available.
- Open the website as a visitor and send a clearly labeled test enquiry.
- Confirm that the intended team can see it, reply, and check the visitor’s response.
- Try the optional name/email form and any typing or read indicators you enabled.
- Resolve the test conversation when finished. Review offline-message handling with the team so they know where the next enquiry will arrive.
Use installation health to find the next step
Disabled means the website connection is not accepting new visitors. Enabled with no observed visitor connection means the widget has not yet connected to that saved website. Check the published address, installed code and website’s Enabled setting.
A last-connected time shows that the widget has reached Mango9. Alert counts describe notification processing; review the actual recipient’s app or mailbox when checking delivery.
