Live Chat
Turn website questions into useful conversations, appointments and sales opportunities.
In the CRM: Conversations → Live Chat → Website & widget
Be there when a visitor is ready to ask
Live Chat adds a chat window to your website and brings incoming conversations into your Mango9 Inbox. Your team can answer questions while a visitor is comparing services, looking for a quote or deciding whether to book.
The client account owner sets up each website, chooses who can answer and decides which visitor details or attachments to allow. Staff work with the websites assigned to them.
Connect your website
- Open Conversations → Live Chat and choose + Add website.
- Enter a Website name your team will recognize.
- For Website origin, enter the exact HTTPS website address, such as https://example.com. Leave off page paths such as /contact. Use a separate connection for a different domain or subdomain.
- Write the Welcome title and Greeting visitors will see. Choose a Widget color that fits your business. The preview updates as you type.
- Select Enable this website when you are ready to accept chats, then Save changes.
- Choose Routing & hours, Visitor details and Alerts & install to finish the answering setup. Copy the installation code from the saved website into your published site.
Choose how a conversation starts
Name and email collection are optional. Keep the opening simple for quick questions, or ask for the details your team needs for a quote or follow-up. Choose Save changes after adjusting these options.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Ask for a name | Show a name field before the conversation. Choose First name or Full name. |
| Require name when shown | Make that displayed name field required. |
| Ask for email | Show an email field so the visitor can provide a follow-up address. |
| Require email when shown | Make that displayed email field required. |
| Typing indicators | Let the visitor and agent see when the other person is typing. |
| Read receipts | Share when messages have been read. Your team’s unread count still works when this option is off. |
Enable attachments only when your business needs them
Attachments are off by default. To allow visitor and agent files, the client account owner selects Allow visitor and agent attachments, acknowledges the security warning and saves the website settings. When uploads are off, the attachment control is hidden.
The offered file types are PNG, JPEG, WebP and PDF, up to 5 MB. The warning explains that unsafe files can infect employees’ computers and that file-type checks cannot guarantee safety.
For a home-service enquiry, an allowed photo can help the team understand the work before booking a consultation. A business that only needs text questions can leave attachments off.
Give every enquiry a next step
A visitor on a service page can ask about availability. An assigned adviser can answer, confirm the next step and book the appointment in Calendar. Use the visitor’s conversation details to understand which page prompted the question.
For a lead-selling operation, the team can gather the enquiry details and continue the established qualification and buyer-delivery process in Sell Leads & Calls. Use internal chat permissions to organize communication between your staff and buyers.
Use Mango9’s calling and SMS tools when the agreed follow-up needs a phone call or text. Your Telnyx business numbers support that calling and texting journey.
