Emergency Address (E911)
Review the physical service location associated with emergency calling for your business phone setup.
In the CRM: Settings → My Profile → E911 Settings, when enabled
Use the actual phone location
E911 Settings is a conditional profile tab for accounts where emergency-address setup is enabled. It collects the physical location used for the device or service location. This is separate from your billing address and the marketing locations in your campaigns.
Use the actual location and useful unit, floor or room details. If your staff work across offices or move between locations, ask your phone administrator to confirm the appropriate emergency-calling setup for those phones.
Review and submit the location
The current form submits the emergency-address request to Telnyx and stores the profile information. If it reports an error, correct the details with your phone administrator; seeing the address in the form alone does not confirm that the number is ready for emergency calling.
- Open Settings → My Profile and select E911 Settings when that tab is available.
- Choose the country. Enter the address, house number and street name in their separate fields.
- Enter the city, state and ZIP or postal code. Add location details that help identify the unit, floor or room.
- Read the linked 911 policy and the acknowledgement on the form.
- Select Save changes only after checking the location. Read the returned confirmation or error before continuing.
Confirm the number is ready with your carrier
For fixed-location Telnyx service, the emergency address must be assigned to the intended number and emergency service must show as active or ready. Your phone administrator should confirm the number, caller ID and routing together.
Telnyx provides 933 for routine E911 address testing in the United States and Canada after setup is ready. Use the intended phone and calling path, and check the address read back. Do not use 911 for routine testing.
